Author corrections

Changes to the proofs made by the author. Traditionally, these corrections were made in blue with typesetter and printer errors marked in red. As per their contract, authors may be charged for ‘excessive’ changes to the final proofs.

This definition is extracted from the book Getting Published: A Companion for the Humanities and Social Sciences by Gerald Jackson and Marie Lenstrup. It was first referred to in the blog Getting Published in a post on making proof corrections.
